Neglected & Abused
Neglect and abuse come in many forms; Child abuse and neglect, Domestic Violence, Abuse and neglect of the elderly, Abuse and neglect of the poor. Also, in all places where there is an absence of love, there is neglect which is mental abuse.
Child Abuse
Children Age 0-5 account for 43% of all child abuse reports. The average age of children with major physical injuries due to abusive treatment is 5. It is obvious that very young children are the most vulnerable to physical injury by a parent or caretaker.
In 2001, abuse and neglect claimed the lives of 1,321 children, including 27 children in New Jersey. This equates to four children dying every day due to maltreatment nationally and one child dying about every 16 days in New Jersey.

Elderly Abuse
There are statistics on this topic; however it doesn't reveal the emotional torment that is imposed by loneliness, or disrespect. Statistics only reveal conclusive evidence in physical abuse. The victims of abuse usually live in the family environment with an adult child or other family member who abuses them.
